Ankle Foot Orthosis Manufacturer – Retailer

Do you want to know who the people are that make braces?

Are you looking for an ankle foot orthosis manufacturer for yourself, or someone that you may know?

Ankle Foot Orthosis Manufacturers & Retailers

There are two general categories when it comes to those people that make ankle foot orthoses.

1.) Those who make them in an assembly line.

2.) Those people who actually make them for the individual user, custom to their anatomy.

** If you want to watch a couple of videos of people who have actually benefited from walking with an AFO (made by a custom manufacturer), then click on this link that follows.  They will tell you their story : https://rinella-op.com/foot-drop-brace-afo-kafo/

When referring back to the first numeral, there are those people who make these braces in an assembly line.  Maybe more acturately, machines make them in an assembly line.  While those kinds of braces are not terrible, they are also not the best ones for you most likely.  Yes, it is a foot drop brace.  They only answer part of the foot drop problem.  – Why? Well, the reason is that your foot is so unique and this is just the start. In fact, your whole body is unique when we are talking about the details of your own anatomy shape and size.

It is, in our very humble (professional) opinion that you should highly consider the use of a custom ankle foot orthosis.  Here is what generally happens if you do not…

1.) You put on the premade AFO.  It helps you walk, by holding up your foot.  The benefit is obvious.

2.) Then later, you start to get more used to wearing it and different details start to jump out at you.  – Such as, the heel is not exactly the same shape as your heel, the calf section might be tight, the arch is too low, etc. etc.

3.) Now you need help to get the brace adjusted, so you call on the person who gave it to you in the first place.  That person, at best will be able to adjust it to be more like your shape, but they most likely will not take it back because now it is used medical equipment.

4.) As you may be learning at this point, you think twice and go out to get a custom made AFO made for yourself.

5.) What’s the difference? Well, the custom made AFO fits your heel, your arch, your forefoot width, your calf, everything!  Much better than before with the premade AFO.  It fits every spot on you and you wish you never got stuck having two braces now.  You wish you got the custom brace first because it fits.  – Bottom line is that it really fits.  And, in addition, the experience you had with the premade  ankle foot orthosis only validates that answer now.

This is a story we have seen over and over with AFOs.  – We hope this information helped you.  We honestly believe that most people should get a custom brace but there are times in which a premade AFO is required.  They are required in situations in which you are rushing to get out of a hospital setting or to somewhere else and time is of the essence.  If you have the time to to wait at least 24 hours to get a custom one made and delivered to you try to do it.
